Born in Baghdad, Iraq (1963) Yahya obtained a ba in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, Baghdad University, in 1987. Since 1985, he has held six solo exhibitions in Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Amman, Jordan and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in various parts of the Arab world, as well as in Norway, the u.k. and the u.s.a. His works can be found in private and public collections, notably at the British Museum, London and at the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, Amman, Jordan.
